“The Heirloom Tomato” has inspired me in many ways

“The Heirloom Tomato” book was a prize find at my bookstore and I felt like the luckiest person to get the last copy on the shelf. I carried it around for weeks to work, to friends’ houses, and even to the doctors. I love tomatoes but was so unaware of the varieties and different flavors until recently. I love reading the stories in the book but the photographs are breathtaking. This book inspired me in many ways. Since I live on the west coast, our growing season is a little longer and I am taking advantage of it. I started 5 different varieties of heirlooms in containers. It’s October and they are 2 feet tall with lots of flowers and today was a very warm bright day (85 degrees). For the cooler days coming they will go in my portable greenhouse and with fingers crossed I should fruit by December.

Thank you for writing a great book.
